“You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.”
Psalms 77:14 (NIV)
Our God is a miracle-working God. He is active, involved, and ever ready to show His mighty hand. A miracle is God’s divine intervention—stepping into a situation when man has reached the end of his abilities. It is the release of His dunamis (miraculous power), superimposing His will over the natural order of things.
Miracles defy logic, biology, time, and space. They’re not bound by seasons, circumstances, or science. When God speaks, everything else must yield. Sometimes He works sovereignly; other times, He partners with His people to bring heaven to earth. But the constant truth is this: God does miracles because He is good.
“Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.”
Psalm 119:68 (KJV)
Miracles: Normal Among God’s People
Miracles are not rare events in the Kingdom—they are a normal part of life for those who walk with God. Wherever there is a need, God is willing and able to meet it. Not as something to be idolized or sensationalized, but as a testament of His love and presence.
God doesn’t perform miracles because we are perfect or deserve it. He performs them because He is powerful and compassionate. Whether the problem was caused by our own mistakes or by circumstances beyond our control, God’s power remains available. His dunamis can change any and every situation.
Set Your Hope in God
“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.”
Psalms 145:4 (NIV)
The more we meditate on His works, the more our hearts are anchored in hope. When believers consistently reflect on what God has done, our faith is stirred.
We ought to speak boldly of His power, brag about God’s abilities for the scripture tells us that He confirms the words of His people:
“Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”
Acts 14:3 (KJV)
God is still in the business of doing the miraculous. But often, the limitation is not in His power, it is in our minds.
Renewing Our Minds
In challenging seasons, it’s easy to focus on the impossible. Hence why we need the Word. The word of God renews our minds and reminds us of who our Father is.
“For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children…That they might set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”
Psalm 78:5-7 (KJV)
Spiritual leaders have a vital role in this: to keep the testimonies of God alive in the hearts of people. Testimonies spark faith. Faith opens the door for the miraculous.
Faith Creates the Atmosphere
“He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”
Galatians 3:5 (KJV)
Faith, ignites miracles. The more we hear, the more we believe. The more we believe, the more we see the demonstration of God’s power.
Silence the Voice of Condemnation
The enemy knows he can’t stop God’s power, so he attacks the believer’s confidence. He brings guilt, shame, and condemnation to make us feel unworthy. But let’s get this straight: miracles are not rewards for perfect behavior, they are the result of a perfect God. God does good to both the good and wicked. His goodness is to all men. The devil is a liar and would do anything to stop us from experiencing the goodnesss of God.
“When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
John 8:44 (KJV)
Our assurance doesn’t rest in our strength. It rests in El Gibor, the Mighty God. His name, His nature, and His reputation are more than enough reason to trust Him.
Worry is an Insult to His Power
“When the Lord heard them, he was furious. The fire of his wrath burned against Jacob…for they did not believe God or trust him to care for them…Despite his wonders, they refused to trust him…They did not remember his power and how he rescued them from their enemies.”
Psalms 78:21-22, 32, 41-42 (NLT)
When we forget who God is, worry fills the gap. But let us be a people who remember His power, who expect His intervention, and who live in bold faith.

Final Thought: Expect the Miraculous
Miracles are not myths. They are the evidence of a living, active, and powerful God. Let your faith rise. Speak of His power. Study His Word. Remember His works. Teach the next generation. And above all, expect God to move.
He still does miracles.
He still answers prayer.
He still responds to faith.
Because our God is the God of miracles.
